[00:00:00] Welcome to the Slackest Talk podcast, aka the Talk of the Town. Now, aka Slack is sports. [00:00:09] And today is Thursday, April 11, 2024. [00:00:16] And I'm back, as promised, with part two of the WrestleMania 40 recap. Last week. You know, I'm saying I had my first prediction show where we went through the whole entire WrestleMania 40 card. And, you know, I predicted the winners, the losers, the surprises. You know, I'm saying, I went all in, and I gotta tell you, man, your boy slack knows what he is talking about. I absolutely nailed it as. As advertised, man. I wasn't perfect. I told you I was going, you know, make a mistake here or there, but out of like 14 matches, man, I think I hit on at least eleven or twelve. And we go recap, you know, we go through the events, we gonna talk about, you know, the entire, you know, both nights, you know what I'm saying? It was a special event, man, in Philly. It set records. It's. It was officially triple h's. Like first WrestleMania that he was in charge of, and it didn't disappoint. Then they broke attendance records, you know what I'm saying? The whole nine, man, the whole entire card, man, it lived up to expectations. It didn't disappoint. [00:01:34] Had maybe like one match that was a little disappointing performance wise. We'll get into. We'll get into all that. But first, man, you know, let's break into, like, some sports news, man. Since this is a crossover show, let's break into, like, what's happening in sports this week. [00:01:54] First things first, man. We had our NCAA final four, you know what I'm saying? Men and women, you know, the entire weekend, two champions were crowned this week. First, you know, ladies first. Let's, let's. Let's give congrats to the South Carolina Gamecock girls. They did they thing. [00:02:15] They took out Caitlin Clark, you know what I'm saying, that the great Caitlin Clark, who's going to be the number one draft pick this Monday in the WNBA draft, you know what I'm saying? That's another thing that's coming up. But South Carolina, man, they did their thing. Congrats. [00:02:33] And I got to say, man, you know, they had everybody worried for a minute. They had their fans worried for a minute, man. The game started off to like a twelve nothing start. [00:02:43] And me for one, you know, I'm an LSU fan, you know, Reese, by the way, you know, she announced that she's going pro. You know, that kind of. That kind of broke my heart a little bit, but it was expected, you know what I'm saying? [00:02:56] We still have a lot to look forward to. But back to the game. Cops, man. Yeah, they got off to a down, being down by twelve, maybe even 13, man, or something like that. And I was saying to myself, you know, all year, they was calling it the revenge tour because of what caitlin did to Raven last year, you know, waved her off, you know, basically saying that she can't shoot, you know, she took it personal. She hit the gym. Raven hit the gym real hard and started working on that jumper. And I gotta say, man, raven got some. Dude, Raven showed me something, man. She got some d, man. She was hustling. I mean, she has some extra motivation, too, obviously. You know, saying. You know what I mean? Obviously. But, yeah, I was saying, man, if the Gamecocks lose to them again, like, this is like, this would be like, one of the most disappointing things, man, mainly being because they undefeated and, you know, they just been brushing through the entire competition and size wise, like this size, like, I would had no answer for South Carolina size. You know, I didn't see no reason why South Carolina should have struggled in this game, you know what I'm saying? Like, iowa has, like, no size. I think they biggest. They biggest girl, I believe, is like six two, man. You know, saying cardozo, 67. I mean, Gamecock just got too many bigs, man. I didn't think that would be a problem. But, I mean, Caitlin cock, final game, she got up to a hard start, and I can't wait to see what she does in the WNBA, you know what I'm saying? I'm skeptical. Like, I'm half and half. Like, she's a great shooter. And, you know, that's my forte in basketball, man, shooting. I believe that as long as you have a jump shot, you have a place in the league, you know what I'm saying? That's been my motto. But I just. I wonder, like, you know, next level WNBA is a level up, you know, I'm saying both offensively and defensively, I think, you know, they all pros, I think they know how to guard the pick and roll. I know they. I know they know how to, you know, guard the screens and pick up screens and stuff that things of that nature. And that's a big part of Caitlin's game. So it's like, can she adjust? You know what I'm saying? Can she make adjustments? You know, what happens when, you know, they pick her up full court? I mean, half court or even full court, what happens then? So I'm skeptical, man. I'm a watch and see how this goes. You know what I'm saying? 50 50 on this. You know what I'm saying? But interesting, too. She'll be with Aaliyah Boston. That's gonna be crazy. That's gonna be. But overall, in general, Indiana fever, man, they gotta. Things gonna have to turn around, man. This is they third or fourth year in a row, having the number one pick, like, something gotta give, man. Something gotta give. But that's coming up. The WNBA draft is coming up this Monday. You know, I might even throw a mock draft Saturday or something like that. You know what I'm saying? Look at. Check out the sports court network, man. I might put up a WNBA mock draft, man. You know, let's. Let's do that. I might even do that. Let's. Let's. Let's do that and see how it goes, man. To prepare for Monday, uh, shout out to Angel Reese, who's also in the draft. She better be top five. I think she should be number one. That's a different conversation. But congrats again to the game cops for winning the championship. I think that's. That's two in three years, you know? Congrats to them. And also on the men's side, man. Uconn. UConn did it again, man. Went back to back. I believe that's the first time since the Gators did it. I want to say, like, Joe Kim Noah in them. I believe I have to double check somebody get with me on that. But I kind of predicted UConn would beat Purdue, even though, you know, Zack Eady, even though he's the best player on the court. [00:07:10] UConn is just too talented. They. UConn has everything UConn has. It has a good big in their own right. And Cleveland. Cleveland, they have guards, they have shooting, they have slashes, they have size. [00:07:24] UConn just didn't have any weaknesses, man. You know what I'm saying? And that was. That was too much for Bidu. That was too much for Purdue. Like, Zach Eadie would have to score, like, 50 something points in this game just to have a chance. You know what I mean? So, congratulations to UConn, my Duke blue Devils, man. We got a class coming in, man. I expect big names, man. It's been a while. We gotta win this. We gotta stop this. This UConn surge, man. It's about time we win another one, man. You know, we got a class coming in. Sadly, Mark Mitchell this announced that he was transferring, which is not surprising, because he he didn't have a spot on the team. Not a spot, a starting spot anyway. So I kind of saw that coming. I was kind of hoping that he would, like, come off the bench, but that was wishful thinking. But, you know, nothing but love and respect to him. I hope he finds some way where he could shine. And he has to. He has the game, man. He has the game. He has the NBA body. [00:08:26] He gotta learn how to shoot. And he. A person, a person that he needs to talk to is Justice Winslow, who also went to Duke. That's a great comparison to him. Like, he need to, like, see what Justice Winslow did. Winslow wasn't a great shooter, but he had handle. Like, you gotta have, like, one of the other. Like if he. If Mark Mitchell adds one or the other or even both. I mean, look out, look out. You know, I'm saying it's still time to develop, man. So shout out to him, wish him nothing but the best. [00:09:07] Now, you know, on this recap edition of Slackest sports, part two, the last edition for WrestleMania 40. [00:09:17] Let's get into it, man. Let's start off, you know, I'm not gonna get with the real. I want to save the real main event later on, which is Cody, you know? I know that's what with what everybody want to talk about. I want to kind of say that for last. I want to. I want to start the show off by talking about a bold prediction that I made. You know what I'm saying? A bold prediction that I made. [00:09:53] And, man, when I tell you, man, I hit it right on the head, man. [00:09:58] I hit that joint out the park, man. Your boy know what he talking about, man. Mess with me on the. On the prediction game, man. Like soon, very soon on the sports court network, we got a team, a team of analysts, and they all go make predictions and we go do it year round. And it's going to be like, for all the major events, like the NCAA tournament, filling out the bracket, WrestleMania, WWE, pay per views, UFC, any, like, major event that you could think of. NBA playoffs, MLB, the Super Bowl, NFL playoffs, all that, man. Like, we gonna have brackets and we all go make our predictions, man. And at the end of the year, we go tally it up and see who got the most wins. You know what I'm saying? So get behind your boy, man. Your boy. Slack. Like, stuff like this. This is like a warm up. But I made a prediction and I'm talking about Seth Rollins versus Drew McIntyre. [00:11:07] Now, I'm not doing this in order, you know what I'm saying? In no order. Y'all should have seen the pay per view by now if y'all haven't seen it, like, shame on y'all, man. Y'all, mister, y'all missed a great one. A real, real great one, man. [00:11:22] But Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, that was the first match on night number two, you know what I'm saying? On Sunday night, that was the first match. [00:11:33] And on that one, I predicted Drew McIntyre was going to beat Seth Rollins. [00:11:41] And I was right, you know what I'm saying? The reason why I picked Drew McIntyre to win, him and Seth had fought, you know, three or four times, at least two or three times already. And Seth came out on top. I figured like, man, Seth can't beat him again. Like, if Seth was to beat him again, like, they could never, ever face each other no more, you know what I'm saying? I'm just like, looking at the logic. Plus, Drew McIntyre, he's been on a roll lately. [00:12:11] Seth Rollins had a match the night before. [00:12:15] Drew McIntyre was coming into that match fresh. So I, you know, I took that under consideration and it was a good match. It was a good match. Matter of fact, Drew McIntyre started off with a claymore. [00:12:30] I thought it was over then, but I was like, nah, you know, Seth can't go out like that. [00:12:35] But great match. And Drew McIntyre got the win. [00:12:39] New champion. A new champion was crowned, you know what I'm saying? I got that one right. [00:12:45] But at the end of the match, man, the end of the match, the end of the match, Drew McIntyre did too much, man, too much, you know, he wanted to play to the crowd, as y'all all know, my man CM punk did. Color commentator. He was a color commentator for the match. Of course, you know, during the, you know, because of their history, Drew McIntyre had to poke fun at CM Punk. He went over to the desk and started taunting him, started talking trash, you know what I'm saying? One thing led to another and CM punk just swept him, just took him. Do them on the table, man, you know what I'm saying? Put them on the table, took the cast off, knocked him out. [00:13:32] And my second prediction of the match came true. [00:13:38] As soon as CM Punk started wailing on Drew McIntyre, Damian priest, music hit. [00:13:47] Damian Priest started coming down with the briefcase, the money in the bank briefcase, which I predicted. [00:13:56] I told y'all that Drew McIntyre was going to win, and I said somehow, some way, Damien Priest was going to cash in on him, and that's exactly what happened. Priest came in, gave the briefcase to the ref, cashed in, threw him in the ring. It was over just like that. One, two, three. [00:14:23] A new championship was crowned just like that. Damian Priest is the new champion. And he became champion for the very first time in his career. [00:14:34] Now, when I made that bold prediction, I figured, man, priest, it seemed like priest had that briefcase, man, forever. It seemed like he had that briefcase forever in the day. [00:14:49] And out of all, like, out of all the briefcase holders and all the, you know, all the cash ins, I could say, like, his was the one that was the most mysterious. [00:15:07] Everybody else that kind of have won it before, you could kind of have an idea of, like, how or when or who they was going to go after. But with priest, it was like there was times where you almost forgot that he had the briefcase, you know what I'm saying? It was like, when is it going to be a good time? Like, I don't. [00:15:37] It wasn't clear cut, you know what I'm saying? There was no vision to it, you know what I'm saying? So I just was saying to myself, like, it has to go down at WrestleMania sometime, man. Because if it's not at WrestleMania, then win, you know, like when. [00:15:53] And I just. I saw the vision, you know? You know, McIntyre just won the champion. You know, he got his moment and then, bam, like, true to form, you know, the same thing, you know, how Drew been feeling, like he's been screwed and all that. [00:16:08] Bam. It just got taken from him just like that, you know what I'm saying? And the vision and history was made, you know what I mean? Drew? Damian priest, the new champion, judgment day now has two champions. [00:16:23] He's the world champion, and Rhea Ripley is the woman's champion. So the judgment day is taking over. [00:16:32] And, you know, speaking of Rhea Ripley, I might as well go ahead and get into it, man. Her and Becky lynch, that was the first match of night number one. You know, they put on a good show. They went at it, and I predicted, you know, Rhea Ripley will retain her title. [00:16:51] And, you know, she did that. She beat Becky Lynch Square, you know, one, two, three. Dead in the center of the ring. And for that one, you know, no disrespect to Becky, you know, like, she's, like, elevated the woman's division, like, took it to a neck to another level. [00:17:11] And I just. Rhea Ripley has been on a roll lately, man. You know, like I said, she's supposed to be a hill, but she's so over with the fans, man, that they still. They still cheer for her, you know what I'm saying? Like, even in judgment day. They still cheer for her, you know what I mean? She's this. She's hot right now. Like, you know what I mean? It's her time, you know what I mean? Every once in a while, like, you get somebody that come along, and it's just they time, you know, it's. It's not the right time for her right now to lose, you know what I'm saying? Like, I see her holding that belt for a while, you know, it's. It's almost. [00:17:50] I can even make a case and say that I could see her going on the street, like, maybe holding that belt for, like, a record setting amount of time, you know what I'm saying? Like, like, like Gupta or, like, uh, roman reigns. I can see her, like, holding it for a record until somebody comes along and takes it. I can see that happening because it's not that many people left for her to face, you know, so I could definitely see that happening. So if you. You keeping track at home, you know, that's two and o or, you know, if you want to count priest, that's three and o. I predicted Drew McIntyre, I predicted priest, and I predicted Rhea Ripley. So either way, you want to look at it, two or three, you know, I'm still undefeated so far. If you keep him to score now, keep it going. Second night was the Philadelphia street fight, man, between the final testament, Carrion Cross, and the authors of pain versus Bobby Lashley and the street profits. [00:19:04] Now, you know, this match had a surprise, man. Had a surprise. Had a surprise, you know, and there's a good one at that, too. Good one. You know, by WrestleMania 40, being in Philadelphia, you know what I'm saying? [00:19:22] Which is the birthplace of ECW. [00:19:30] What better way to honor that than to have a special guest referee from ECW itself that. [00:19:40] A person that popularized ECW, a person that bought the tables to the mix. [00:19:47] I'm talking about my man, Bubba Ray Dudley of the Dudley Boys hall of Famer. He was the special guest referee, and I don't think that was announced, you know what I'm saying? I don't remember that being announced, so that was a good. That was a good surprise, man. Of course that was. I got a good pop from the crowd, you know what I'm saying? People love that. [00:20:08] But in this match, you know, I mean, I expected it. [00:20:12] They did. They dang. Overall, I liked it. I was kind of expecting it to be all over the place. I was expecting it to. To go backstage and, you know, they didn't do all that. They kind of kept it near the ring, which was. Which was cool, which was good. [00:20:30] And the highlight to me of the match was b fab putting Scarlet do a table, that. That. That was the highlight of the night, man. I didn't see that coming. Like, b fab is up and coming, you know, I haven't seen her in the ring too much. You know, that's what surprised me. So I wasn't. I wasn't quite sure of, like, what she brings to the table, like, what she could do. So I was, like, surprised, like, okay, she's willing to get down, man. Put Scarlett do a table. Like, that was the highlight of the night. Like, she got down for us, man. Ride or die. Shout out to bfab for that. [00:21:13] They need to give her, like, more time, you know, I'm saying, even though, you know, she's a manager, she plays more background role. It wouldn't hurt, like, if she had more seasoning, you know, I mean, more in ring work, you know, I'm saying, get her accustomed to it. That's how, like, Tristan, Chris Stratus taught it, you know, I'm saying she was a manager. Look, she became one of the best ever. So, you know, I mean, like, go ahead and, you know, behind the scenes, like, get us some more work, man. You know, let her do what it do, man. You never know. [00:21:46] But in this one, you know, I predicted Bobby Lashley and the street profits over, you know, the final testament, and Bobby Lashley and the street profits pulled it out. You know what I'm saying? Shout out to Montez Ford, who also had a good spot in the match, like, jumping over the corner turnbuckle, you know what I'm saying? That was amazing. That was amazing. But this match, you know, of course, you know, bubba Ray got involved. Karrion Kross started running his mouth. Bubba told them how to get the tables, and they did the what's up and all that. So this match had some great spots in it, man. You know what I mean? True to form, like, including Bubba Ray Dudley in it, that was genius. That was genius. But Bobby Lashley and the profits, they pulled it out, man. And that. That takes me to either three and zero or four. No, you know what I'm saying? Undefeated so far. Still another singles. A singles match of the night was La Knight versus AJ Styles. Now, you know, I'll be honest with this one. [00:22:54] This one was kind of, to me, like, thrown together. [00:22:59] I mean, you know, they did have a story to it, but I kind of thought the story was kind of weak. [00:23:10] The build up to the match could have been a lot better, you know, something different, you know, like something different, something extra. I think maybe, like, this match should have had, like a. [00:23:23] Should have had, like, another element to it. I think it should have, like, some stipulations, I think, you know, obviously, when Lashley in the prophets and, you know, the final testament, they had a street fight, so that was out. [00:23:40] I felt like this should have been, like, something to it to make this match special. [00:23:47] The street fight was taken, so I'm not sure, like, exactly what it should have been, but it should have been some kind of, like, something special. Like, it just seemed like it was missing something, you know, not to say that the performance La Knight and styles didn't do they thing, but I think they would have benefited from, you know, it being some kind of, like, specialty match or something like that. But anyhow, you know, I predicted La knight over Stiles. La Knight got the pinfall, you know, so another feather and the cap. [00:24:28] The next one was Logan Paul. The triple threat match, Logan Paul versus Kevin Owens versus Randy Orton for the United States championship. [00:24:42] This one, too, man had kind of a understandable bill, but kind of strange, too. [00:24:52] Like, I definitely see the good story and the good chemistry, like, with Logan Paul and Kevin Owens. [00:25:01] I kind of think overall they had it. They added Randy Orton to the mix because they had nothing else for him lined up this year. [00:25:12] And, you know, that was just a way to. To get him on the card was as crazy as it sound, cuz, you know, Randy Orton is a hall of famer, you know, for sure. [00:25:23] But same thing I said with, with La Knight and AJ Styles. Like, I just didn't like the build to it. I was kind of. I was kind of expecting Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to, like, go at each other in which it never really happened, you know, this, like, what are we gonna have, like a two on one versus Logan Paul? [00:25:50] You know what I'm saying? Like, like, like, you know, what does it go be? [00:25:55] But, you know, Logan Paul came out victorious. [00:26:00] You know, he came out with the victory. He retained his title, which I predicted. And I must say on this one one, I think the WWE might have made a mistake. And I'm going to tell you what that mistake is later on in the show when I talk to you about another match that happened that night. [00:26:24] Once I start talking about that other match and you see the results that happened, you would understand, like, where I'm coming from, the WWE, like, missed a crucial moment that they could have put together, you know, so we'll, we'll talk about that later on in the show. [00:26:43] And also, like, what has to happen? Like, here I go again, like, with these, these specialty matches, you know, with something on the, with something on the line or, or, you know, some kind of, like, special match or something like that. But I think Logan Paul versus Kevin Owens in a steel cage or last man standing match. There it is. Last man standing match. That probably should have been the match with LA Knight and AJ Styles. That probably should have been a last man standing match. There it is. But, yeah, I think it has to be, like, Logan Paul versus Kevin Owens and some kind of, like, last man standing match or hell in the cell for the title. I think that's, I think that's where that's going with that, you know what I'm saying? Maybe at SummerSlam or something, like, you know, some major event. I think that's gonna, like, that's what that's gonna come to. [00:27:48] But Logan Paul wins, I win. I predicted that. I'm still undefeated. [00:27:54] And the second women's championship of the event for the SmackDown championship, it had eo sky versus Bailey. [00:28:07] And Bailey, interest was different. You know, she did a thing. She had to, she had to do something special. Like, this was her first singles match at WrestleMania since she's been in the WWE. And that's, that's crazy. But like I said, man, you can't get everybody on the card. And the women's division is on the come up. Like, now. They're gonna have, like, I seen the foreseeable future. They gonna have, like, three or four matches, you know, especially if they doing two nights. So I can see, like, I just definitely easily see, like, like two matches on each show. You know what I'm saying? Also, too, man. Like, they got so much talent now in the women's division that I think they gonna have to bring back a second tag team championship. Like they do well, like, they, like they did the men's. And I have to get into that, too, man. [00:29:03] I was tricked on that one. I was tricked real bad, man. I felt like a sucker. I was. I was tricked real bad, man. I didn't know. And we gonna talk about that in a minute. But let me get back to Eo and them. [00:29:16] That was the EO and them was the second match, the second women's title match, I should say, of the event. And those two put on the show, you know what I'm saying? You know, the back story, damage control. They kicked Bailey out. They've been laughing at her, doing stuff behind her back. You know, Bailey went on to win the royal rumble, and everybody thought that she was gonna pick Rhea Ripley to go against, and she ended up picking Eo sky, you know, saying that that was genius. That was, uh, that was, that was good booking right there. [00:29:51] And, you know, to cap it off, you know, about Bailey, she's like, you know, she's part of the four horse woman. [00:30:02] She started, you know, the revolution and women's wrestling along with Sasha and Charlotte. And as I mentioned earlier, you know, like, she's probably, like, the least celebrated man, but you got to give her flowers, man. And her winning the royal rumble and then go ahead and win it in WrestleMania, it definitely, like, it's solidified her, you know what I'm saying? It solidified her. Like, she's definitely, like, as far as the hierarchy and the four horsewomen, she's up to par with the rest of them. You know, there's, there's no, she's behind, you know what I'm saying? You definitely got to put her up there in the upper echelon now. And I'm just willing, I'm just waiting to see how long this title reign lasts, you know what I'm saying? What's next, you know? Cause I know Bianca gonna be looking for her, but I picked Billy in that one, and Billy came out on top. [00:30:57] Now, the next one, man, is the surprise of the night. [00:31:02] Sami Zayn versus Gunther and Gupta had the intercontinental title for 660 days, I believe, the longest ever to hold that title. And in this one, I picked Gunther. And shockingly, man, you know, Sami Zayn beat him straight up. Sammy Zane beat him straight up for the title, one on one. No interference at that. And I gotta say, you know, not to take nothing from Sami Zayn, but I'm just shocked, you know, of all the people that could have stopped the streak, you know, of Gupta, it's kind of, like, strange that they picked Zane, you know, but it's, it's a good story. [00:31:50] It was a good story. It was a good story. And like I said, you know, not to take away from Zayn. He definitely deserves it, because a lot of times, you know, the WWE don't do him no justice. Like, whatever role they give him in, he show out, you know what I'm saying? He always take over. And then, like, it's like, after that's over, that dies down, he has to start over with something else. Like, they never give him that major push that he deserved. And, you know, no matter what, he just keeps showing out and I think, you know what I alluded to earlier? [00:32:28] I think WWE missed a good moment here. You know, last year at WrestleMania, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defeated the USo's to win the tag team, you know, the undisputed tag team titles. And this year, they had the opportunity to put the intercontinental championship on Zayn, which they did. And if Kevin Owens would have won his match, he could have walked away with the United States belt, and then two could have had a moment together. You know what I'm saying? Winning tag titles one year, and then when the single titles the next, that was a good story. You know what I'm saying? Like, in the event of Cody Rhodes finished the story, that would have been another moment. I think they missed that. But, you know, maybe somewhere down the line, you know, but Sami Zayn over the Gunther, that's one that I got wrong on that one. I got that one wrong. [00:33:23] Now, you know, before I get into the main event for both nights, let's just do a quick recap, you know what I'm saying? Let's make sure we got the accurate count. [00:33:38] I took Rhea Ripley over Becky lynch, which is one. [00:33:44] I took Gunter over Sami Zayn. I lost that one one to one. The battle of the brothers Jey Uso versus Jimmy. [00:33:54] I took Jey in that one. Making it two. [00:33:58] Making it, making it two and one. [00:34:01] The six pack tag ladder match, which is what I wanted to talk about. [00:34:07] So on that one, when I did my prediction last week, I guess I didn't understand the rules. I missed that one. [00:34:17] I thought that all four belts were going to be suspended above the ring together, and one team was going to, you know, become the new, undisputed WWE tag team champs. I didn't know that, you know, the belts were going to be divided again. Like, we was going to have Raw tag team champions and SmackDown champions. I missed that part. [00:34:46] And I didn't, you know, because I missed that part, obviously, you know, I was supposed to pick, you know, two different teams because we were going to have two different winners. You know, obviously, I only picked one, and I picked, you know, Pete Dunn and Tyler Bate, which they didn't win, you know, need the title. [00:35:09] So I want to be fair. So I guess, however you look at it, I guess, you know, I lost, of course I lost that one. That would make it, I guess, two. Two and two. [00:35:25] But, yeah, I dropped the ball on that one. Man, I cheated myself. I had the opportunity to pick two teams, and I didn't do that. So I'll take an l. I have no choice but to take an l on that one. Being that I took one team, I take one. L. I think that's fair. That makes it two wins and two losses. [00:35:45] Now. Bianca Belair, Naomi and Jade Cargill versus damage control. [00:35:52] Of course, you know, I picked Jade. You know, Jade couldn't lose her debut match at WrestleMania. Come on now. You know what I'm saying? Damage control is this. You know, they. That's different. That's different level. You know, they don't have nobody as powerful as Jade. I picked Jade on that one and they came through. That makes it three and two. Three wins, two losses. You got Mysterio and Dragon Lee versus Santos and Dominic. I picked Rey Mysterio in that one. Rey mysterio came up victorious. That made it four and two. My way. [00:36:33] Seth Rollins versus Drew McIntyre. I picked Drew McIntyre. Of course, we talked about that earlier. That makes it five and two. [00:36:41] Eo versus Bailey. I took Bailey. Bailey's the new champion. That makes it six and two. [00:36:49] Triple threat Logan Paul, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens for the United States. I picked Logan to retain. [00:36:57] That makes me seven wins and two losses. [00:37:01] La Knight versus AJ Styles. I took La knight on that one. That made it eight and two. [00:37:09] And the Philadelphia street fight. Bobby Lashley and the street prophets versus the final testament. I picked the street prophets and Bobby Lashley to win. And that's exactly what happened. Lashley and the Prophets get the victory over final testament with special guest referee Bubba Ray Dudley of the Dudley boys. [00:37:36] That made it ten and two straight domination. [00:37:42] Now let's get into the main event. [00:37:48] 1st, 1st off, let's talk about night number one, which was the tag match featuring my man the Rock and Roman Reigns versus Cody and Seth Rollins. [00:38:01] Now this match, it lived up to the hype. It lived up to the hype. Despite, you know, I voiced my frustration earlier about, I mean, well, last week how the match shouldn't have took place because, you know, WrestleMania, you don't really want to. [00:38:22] WWE has so much talent that we don't need to see wrestlers twice. You know what I'm saying? It kind of takes away from it, you know what I'm saying? I just don't like the idea of people having to wrestle twice. You know what I mean? Night two, you just seen those guys the night before. You know what I'm saying? [00:38:42] I think that just takes away from the presentation of it. [00:38:47] But despite that, the match, it lived up to his billing. [00:38:52] The Rock definitely proved that he can still. He still got it. He can still go I think that was his first match in over ten years, ten plus years or something like that. You know, he still got it. [00:39:08] I understand that, you know, he's a movie star and, you know, he's a businessman and, you know, he's just, he outgrew it. But, you know, man, every time, every time you see him out there, like, you, you just, like, want to see him out there more, man. You know, I'm saying, I hope he kind of, like, sticks around and, you know, not a part time role because I know he can't do that. But, like, you know, once, twice a year, something similar to, like, what Brock Lesnar does or something like that. We'll see. We'll see what happens. But this match lived up to the hype. You know, them two teams went at each other, rules. There were basically no rules. The rulebook got thrown out in this one. And I picked Roman reigns and the rock to win. And the reason why I picked them to win, I thought, you know, the stipulation is if they won, it would be, you know, bloodline rules. And I thought, you know, bloodline rules would make Cody versus RoMaN that much more entertaining, you know what I'm saying? And, you know, true to form, I was right. The rock and Roman Reigns picked out a victory in this one. And that makes me 1111 and two. You know what I'm saying? You know, get with your boy, man. I just, I know how to. I know how to pick him, man. I know how to pick him, you know. [00:40:39] Rock and Roman Reigns come out victorious, making the main event of night two. Cody versus Roman. [00:40:47] Bloodline rules, anything goes. [00:40:51] Now, speaking of which, the actual main event, Cody versus Roman. [00:40:59] Will Cody Rhodes finish the story, man? You know, and as advertised, man, this match was, it was the match on the card, man. [00:41:14] It was a sight to see. It was a sight to see. [00:41:19] First off, Roman beating Cody last year, I was shocked. You know, I was shocked. I was shocked. I thought, you know, Roman had the belt for a year. I thought they was going to leave it, you know, end it there, you know? [00:41:36] Cody Rhodes had the opportunity at WrestleMania to take the title from him. I thought the stage was set. And when Roman won, I was shocked. I was shocked. [00:41:49] From that point on, they pretty much announced that, well, Cody pretty much announced that he was going to finish his story, you know, pretty much setting the stage for a repeat. [00:42:02] I kind of don't care for that angle either. Like, WrestleMania made events being predetermined a whole year in advance because that kind of, like, takes the takes the fun out of it, man. Like, it's, you already kind of know, like, you know, one. One championship is already decided. You know, I'm saying that that means, you know, this person might not win the Rory rumble. It kind of, like, tells a lot of stuff beforehand, you know what I'm saying? [00:42:38] Which is, you know, it takes the role to WrestleMania. The thrill of it, you know, a little bit out of it, you know, it takes it a little bit. It makes it a little bit less entertaining, you know what I'm saying? Because, you know, certain things have to happen for this matchup to take place, and it was already announced in advance, but, you know, I didn't care about that part of it. But, man, you know, the match of the year, definitely, you know, the match of the year, the match of the year. [00:43:10] These two went at it, you know, bloodline rules. So, you know, there was going to be some surprises involved. And man worded, you know, we talking about solo, which everybody knew. [00:43:24] John Cena making a surprise appearance, coming out to attack Solo. [00:43:30] The USO's continued they beef from the day before. [00:43:35] Of course, the rock made his presence felt. Seth Rollins dressing up in his shield gear, that was something to see. [00:43:46] And, man, you know, the hall of Famer, the icon himself, the undertaker, also making the appearance, you know, Cody Rhodes first championship finished the story. WWE, they brought out all the stops for this one, man, all the stops. And that was just a hell of an ending, you know? And it all led to Cody Rhodes defeating roman reigns, not only stopping the streak, not only finishing the story, but also, like, building his own legacy, putting himself on the map. And it's up from here, man, I can't wait to see, you know, Cody's not the underdog anymore. He's the champ. [00:44:37] I can't wait to see, like, who's the first person that's going to come knocking on his door, you know, where do we go from here, you know, is it the rock? Is it Roman? [00:44:50] I believe, like, Seth Rollins is going to take some time off. And overall, man, it's just an exciting time. We got new champions all over the place, man. Cody Rhodes, Damien priest, Sammy Zane Bailey. Is this exciting time in WWE? Not to mention, man, we got WWE draft coming up later this month. So is this a, is this a fun time in the WWE? [00:45:24] My prediction, my final stat is twelve and two, which pretty much sound about right. I knew give or take, I was going to get two wrong. [00:45:35] And, and, you know, like I said, you know, these predictions, like, get used to them, you know, we have a whole bunch of contests, you know, coming up. You know, we doing all major sport events, so definitely look forward to that. There's, there's gonna be prizes and giveaways and all kind of stuff, man. You know, this is just the beginning. You know, I wanted to give an example, and I thought WrestleMania would be a perfect place to, like, showcase the prediction panel that's about to happen on the sports corps network that I'm a part of. And again, you know, another first here on the Slackest talk podcast, aka the Slackest sports podcast. You know, this is a crossover show. This is another first, our first prediction, prediction panel episode. [00:46:35] And this is just another feather in the cat, you know, we got a whole bunch of pay per view events coming up. This is just the beginning. And as far as, like, you know, WWE, it's a fun time to be a wrestling fan. It's a fun time. And like I said, it's a fun time to be a sports fan. You know, nothing but events is coming up. We got the WNBA draft coming up next week, Monday. We got the WWE draft later this month. We got the NFL draft later this month. It is MLB. We in the second to third week of the season already. It's just a fun time to be a sports fan, and I'm happy to be a part of it. Check us out on the sports court network. [00:47:22] Look forward. Look forward to more, you know, slackest sports, slackest talk crossover shows. And y'all know how we do it, man. You know, I'm putting my name in the hat. Twelve and two WrestleMania prediction. Twelve and two, baby. You know, if you want to bet, put your money behind your boy, man. I know what I'm talking about. Sports is my life. You know what I'm saying? Just, this is what I do. But y'all, y'all take it easy. Y'all be safe out there. Y'all take care of each other. And y'all, you know, y'all watch those sports. Watch those sports, man. [00:47:55] Sports is where it's at, man.
